My Way of Life

I’m feeling very squirrelly lately. Out of sorts. I think I’m a bit anxious about our gig tomorrow. Being in a play is one thing but playing where there are people there that didn’t necessarily come to see you is another thing. My fat ego isn’t used to that. Oh, did I mention I’d be dressed in a ‘Joan Crawford as a rock star’ drag in some bar I’ve never been to in Bucktown? The things one does for a little attention….

The good news is we’ve been practicing a lot. The better news is we were chosen as the NUMBER ONE ‘Don’t Miss’ CRITICS PICK  event in TimeOut Chicago (in the gay and lesbian section of course). Whee!!!I don’t think we’ll go on until 10pm and admission is 6 bucks. Please do come see The Joans at Ronny’s Bar in Bucktown. The come back to see us August 3 at the Jackhammer Chicago!

  1. You’ll be just fine…it’ll be fun! And we’ll SOUND good, too!

Remind me to apply a cucumber mask before our next photo shoot…or sleep more. Whichever’s easiest.

  2. I really wanted to come see you tonight. But, Tall Tim doesn’t get home till 11-11:30 and of course, you lost out to standing in line for the LAST Harry Potter book.

    Sorry.

  3. I understand that standing in line for a book is more important then The Joans.-Wah-wah….We have plenty more shows coming up.

  4. Chances are looking really good we’ll be on the South Side belatedly celebrating the better half’s birthday. Dan has been a widow to the Neofut thing, so it’s his skate. People always talk during rock shows. They’re drunk and freshly loosed of their cubicles. However they are probably going to be talking about the fabulousness of your performances, remember that. Congrats on your critic’s pick!

  5. I’m so sorry I missed it; had rehearsal for my own band thingy last night. I hope it was great; can’t wait to hear all about it.

  6. David, any way of getting the songs in a way that I can put on my iTunes?

    Purdy pwweeze!

  7. Forget it, buster! You snooze, you looze. :-)

We’ll have video soon…it was digital, so there might be a way to get sound files?
