My Way of Life

I worked on rewrites for The Birds last night and read more of Peyton Place. Chris was watching his favorite shows, The New Adventures of the Old Christine, which is ‘okay’, followed by the very predictable Two and a Half Men. I hope they’re paying Conchata Farrell well. It must be love, indeed… It’s hard to believe that Tracy Repep will be arriving next week so we’re in the process of preparing Miss Crawford’s suite. Cable TV, fresh pillows,  and 100 proof Smirnoff. That is just the tip of her diva demands. Besides, The Birds and The Joans I’m looking for a director for Rudolph the Red-Hosed Reindeer as the person who agreed to it unagreed to it and I’m ‘in talks’ on another cool little project, so hopefully I don’t die without leaving some sort of mark on society.

  1. Darling, you’ve left your mark everywhere–we oughtta rub your nose in it! :-)

I thought Conchata Ferrell was dead…I’m relieved to see that she’s still with us.

  2. Which part of “Peyton Place” are you reading now?

Have you got to the carnival that comes to town on Labor Day weekend?

Metalious puts the “fun” in “fun house”!

  3. No, I haven’t gotten to the carnival. I just finished whats her face’s kiss with the geek y mamas boy. You know, the teenager thats supposed to be Grace…

  4. You mean when Allison Mackenzie goes swimming with Norman Page? You’ve got quite a ways to go!

Don’t stop. It gets better in Part Two. Positively gothic.

  5. Yeah, that part. I find it not the most interesting read….

  6. You’ll love Payton Place, it’s much better than that tired old movie they made of the book. But you should see Return to Payton Place with Carol Lynley… it’s camptastic. Mary Astor pretty much does Joan in it.

And do you remember Hot L Baltimore, the first time I remember seeing Ms. Farrell. Glad she’s still working, but she should have been a big star.

  7. Of course I remember Hot L Baltimore. Loved it!
