My Way of Life

Last night more then made up for any dissapointments I was feeling. It was my very first award ceremonies for theater and I wore a strapless red sequinned number. No, I actually wore jeans and a blazer. I’m glad I did as I sat for quite a while. The atmosphere was very relaxed and all the people there were in good moods. You look around and you realize you’re in the midwest. I will not go into fashion faux paus as we’d be here all day. The best part of the ceremony was all of the dames or honorary dames who made it to the ceremony. Trish, Brigitte, Andra, Jamie, Aaron, Ed Jones, Cheryl, Tripp, Philip and Christopher! I went onsatge hand and hand with Jon Steinhagen and when I walked up to the microphone I froze-for a split second- then babbled. I was determined to mention the name of all the Dames and I think I did. From both runs! I did get a little verklempt whenI returned to my seat and took it all in. I thought that my bandleader grandpa would have loved the award but he died over 20 years ago.
