My Way of Life- Rudolph!
We have started Rudolph the Red Hosed Reindeer rehearsals and despite a few obstacles things are going well. The obstacles? Everybody’s insane schedules and yesterday we lost an elf and a snowperson. For the first time in Rudolph’s history an actor playing an elf didn’t feel ‘comfortable’ with the content of Rudolph the Red-Hosed Reindeer, although he read the script and the audition scene did not disguise what kind of show it was. I’m thinking either he really did some soul searching and decided he didn’t want his parents or himself to figure out his sexuality just quite yet (he’s fresh out of college), or he’s full of shit, and he just got offered another part. Time will tell, and yes, I will be looking. Luckily, we have had several fabulous elf referrals. The Snowman dilemma is a little more difficult, because it’s just tough to find a good Snowman. I’m not kidding! Our current Snowwoman had some health issues (nothing horrible) and she had to be excused. We’ll miss her!
So, here is the current Rudolph cast so far…I think…

All will yet be well…Ed’s reading of Connie last night was quite hilarious!
Good luck finding an elf and a snowman. Better you should learn about the elf’s objections now than watch him struggle with it all through rehearsal and quit after final dress.
Didn’t want his parents to figure it out? They probably already know. Unless they’re from Central America.
Just saying.
Considering how much he just LOVED reading the Connie part, I somehow doubt he was just now “figuring things out for himself”…I believe that ship has already docked! And he probably met it with a bottle of champagne…:-)
It IS too bad, though…he was good!
