My Way of Life

My goodness, what a weekend. I ended up going on for Terry McCarthy Friday through Sunday. Poor Terry had laryngitis and was unable to speak. That must have been tortuous for him because he never shuts up! So I found the most colorful put fit I had and got onstage, script in hand and played the part. Friday I was nervous, Saturday it was fun , and Sunday was not too good for me. I scraped the side of my car while turning a corner in the alley and hitting a pylon hidden by snow. Who the hell puts a 20 inch pylon on the corner of a lot, sticking out of the ground? When I got to the theatre my contacts were acting goofy and I couldn’t read my script very well so I sort of winged it. Whenever I goofed I just got madder and madder at myself.

  1. Your car doesn’t really look that bad–well, at least not as bad as I’d imagined from your description. I’ve heard of a good place that does bodywork on Jarvis–some of my friends have gone there and like their work. I can give you the number.

Actually, you didn’t mess up that much, either. A few flubbed words here and there, but then I was doing it too! The audience probably thought it was on purpose. (The ones who were awake, anyway! :-))

  2. Hey… I was one of the sleepy audience members on Sunday… The energy of the audience was really low. But David, you were fine… and funny… It was a bit like Joan taking over for Christina… But I had a fun, everyone is really fabulous in it… kudos to you aaron… I’ve never seen you in anything before.

I’ll have to see it again, not at a Sunday matinee…

  3. Ha! Johnny, I love you.
