Someone tampered with the float! Nikki Blonsky takes a dive in Queen-Sized
The lovely folks at Lifetime have done it again with another unintentional camp treat. Queen-Sized stars Hairspray’s Nikki Blonsky and Annie Potts, perhaps the thinnest woman in sitcom history as her mother. It’s the story of a girl who is nominated for homecoming queen by the school Heathers and decides to GO for it. She changes her mind about 72 times and whenever she does this she gets really angry and eats. Did I mention she also hallucinates that her mother is taunting her in a cocktail dress and a beehive? At one point she (Nikki Blonsky) runs all the way home from school and tears off the door of the refrigerator to scarf down a gallon of ice cream as she sobs uncontrollably. How can you NOT laugh at that? This has good intentions but I seriously don’t see how they could look at the finished product and not giggle a little. Besides the fat girl issues, there;s the story of the reluctant Barbie doll and her evil best friend who’s living vicariously through her- the confrontation between the two is pretty funny stuff. Seriously, this might be a Summer Camp piece. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Ooh! I always trust your judgement and this one sounds like a must-see masterpiece! I’m kicking myself for flipping past it when I saw that it was on but you know Lifetime, they’ll rerun it about 1000 times.
Sorry to see Nikki Blonsky reduced to this type of shit–not to mention Annie Potts. It might have seemed more natural for Delta Burke (someone who’s actually HAD experience with weight issues) to play the mother. But then it would have been REALLY campy!
She might have sung, though!
