Suzanne Pleshette- 1937-2008
Posted on January 20th, 2008 by David
I just finished cleaning up after a party we had and was so sad to see this news when I checked my e-mail. Anybody growing up in on television like I did adored Suzanne Pleshette. On The Bob Newhart Show she took what could have been a forgettable sitcom wife role and turned her into a smart, independent, sexy woman. Her performance in The Birds was devastatingly tragic. She was just Cool. I knew she wasn’t doing well when I asked Tippi about her this past October. She didn’t go into specifics. She didn’t have to, you could see it all in her eyes. We’ll miss you Suzie.

Oh sad! She will be missed. I have to add that she was cool AND classy. Something about her, no matter where I saw her, always made me think she was the kind of woman that you’d want at your dinner party.
Everyone remembers her in the Bob Newhart Show. I have seen the movies she made. No one has mentioned the movie Teenage Millionair. Now thats when i first saw her and loved her since then. Please correct me if i am wrong.
She was such a beauty, and so funny! Her comedic brilliance showed more in the things she DIDN’T say…as you said, “cool.”
I heard about this Sunday morning, too, Dan called me into the room like it was on fire or something. I immediately thought, “Poor David.”
So sad. She’s with Tom now, though.
It did cheer me up to see some of the hilarious titles of her shows/movies. She should have gotten some kind of award:
“40 Lbs of Trouble”
“The Ugly Dachshund”
“The Adventures of Bullwhip Griffin” (goodness)
“Hunters Are For Killing”
“Alone in the Neon Jungle”
(”Hey, do you want to go to the Neon Jungle with me? No? *sigh* Ok.”)
But I bet she was awesome in all of them.
[Sorry, Enrique, IMDB says you’re wrong.

Maybe it was Zasu Pitts!]
