Harvey Korman 1927- 2008

Part of being a child of the 60’s and 70’s was growing up with The Carol Burnett Show. I always looked forward to that show and Harvey Korman was one of the reasons. I was so sad to come home from Die! Mommie, Die! to find that Mr. Korman had passed away. He was 81. Die! Mommie, Die! is really like an extended Carol Burnett film sketch and the show and the actors on that show influenced me greatly as an artiste’. Enjoy Harvey as Hedley Lamar in Blazing Saddles. And METHODISTS! Harvey Korman, you will be missed but what an incredible body of work.

I’ll never forget Ed Higgins, or the the great big drag character from “As the Stomach Turns.” Those shows always made me feel better. I laughed even harder when I saw them in reruns years later and was old enough to “get” them.
I’m so sad!
Sad. He was one of my idols.
Let’s watch THE STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL in his honor. (Harvey, Bea Arthur and Art Carney in a sci-fi musical holiday extravaganza!…now THAT’S entertainment!…kinda)
