Hello Family and Friends!
As some of you may know, I am training for the 2008 Chicago Marathon right now and raising money for an amazing charity. This time I am running for a very personal reason.  My mom is a two-time breast cancer survivor and after almost 5 years in remission was recently diagnosed with metastatic bone cancer which developed from breast cancer cells . Fortunately, Mom is doing extremely well on her chemo treatments right now. Having to go through this experience for the third time is tough, but there are hundreds and thousands of women who are going through this experience alone. I decided to become a charity runner for the Breast Cancer Network of Strength (formerly known as the Y-Me organization) because of their commitment to helping women and their families get through the emotional and physical hurdles that a cancer diagnosis can bring.
The Breast Cancer Network of Strength has many wonderful support programs including a 24/7 support line staffed by breast cancer survivors; a program that matches survivors with recently diagnosed patients, and a wig and prosthesis salon for those who are unable to afford them on their own. Their goal is to ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone.

 Please help me and the Breast Cancer Network of Strength to raise funds for programs and services for those who can’t wait for tomorrow’s cure.
