Dishonest….Yes I would say. N. Ft. Myers, Fl. Cleveland Ave. My friend and I went to Denny’s Sat. March 29th, 2008 around 8:30PM. When we sat down at the table and the waitress took our drink order I showed her I had a coupon for buy one get one free lunch or dinner. We ordered and enjoyed the meal.

The problem came when we went to leave, the waitress that came to ring up the meal, I gave her the coupon and she said she would have to get the manager cause she could not give us the buy one get one free price. When the manager came out she said, she would not honor the coupon, cause we had the senior citizen meal. WE DID NOT ORDER THE SENIOR CITIZEN MEAL and had not mention it at all to the waitress.

The manager and I went round and round and, SHE said we had to pay the full price, cause we ate the meal and did not say anything.

The regular meal comes with 3 meat loaf pieces while the senior citizen meal comes with 2. I told the manager that it was their error and again, she said we ate it and we had to pay the full price.

THE COUPON STATES THAT IS NOT TO BE USED WITH ANY OTHER DISCOUNTS. AS THE SENIOR CITIZEN MEAL IS NOT A DISCOUNT… IT IS A REGULAR MEAL ON THE MENU. If they consider it a discounted meal (which it should not be) the waitress should not have brought it in the first place.

Is it that they gave us the meal on purpose to get the full amount,,,,as the waitress had said when I showed her the coupon, before we ordered…her comment was “You will have to straighten that out when you leave”.

OR Are they trying to get out of honoring the coupons.

Or is just down right poor management ( and I assure the Manager is a Poor Manager) and help (I feel she did it intentionally).

I can not remember when I have ever complained about a service, but I assure that this has been an experience that should of never happened.

BEWARE OF COUPONS…ESPECIALLY AT DENNY’S.

    Yes, they gave you the meal on purpose to get the full amount…and yes, they are trying to get out of honoring the coupons.

    Next time, eat at Cracker Barrel.
