Brigitte Ditmars

Brigitte Ditmars began performing at a very young age. Who could forget her 5th grade performance in the title role of Twinkle! --the true story of the star who led the wise men to Bethlehem. After a few more hits in her little town of LaGrange, KY, Brigitte moved on to the fast-paced college life in Dayton, OH. She earned her BFA in Acting from Wright State University. Upon graduation, Brigitte opted for the big city of Chicago. Since her move, she has worked with Footsteps Theatre, Theatre Building Chicago, Stagerage, The Baum House, Circle Theatre, Bailiwick Repertory, Brown Couch Theatre, Live Bait Theatre, Emerald City Theatre, and Porchlight Music Theatre. Brigitte once aspired to be a great lady of the stage, performing the works of Euripides, Shakespeare, Chekhov and Shaw. Then she met David Cerda and Steve Hickson. Pretty soon, her years of training went down the toilet as she donned a squirrel tail, brown furry ears and a duck beak to portray several woodland creatures in Rudolph the Red-Hosed Reindeer. Since that first appearance, she has appeared in several HIAH productions including Poseidon! An Upside-Down Musical (both the Chicago and New York Fringe Festival cast), Rudolph the Red-Hosed Reindeer 2003 and 2004, How Whatever Happened to Baby Jane Happened, Scarrie! The Musical (workshop), The Twilight Gallery, and Judy's Scary Little Christmas.  In 2003, Brigitte also began working as a freelance choreographer and collected her first Joseph Jefferson Citation for Choreography in 2004 (Pinafore!  Bailiwick Repertory Theatre)  and another nomination in 2005 (Camp Nimrod for Girls at Live Bait Theatre)
