Annie Gloyn

Annie Gloyn is incredibly excited to be a member of Handbag. In the mid 1980s the movie version of the musical Annie was shown on television, and at the tender age of 5 a young girl named Ann decided that she would no longer be called a one syllable name. From then on she declared herself “Annie” and somehow the love of musical theatre was imprinted forever on her soul. Many California regional theatre productions later, she wound up in Boston where she received her B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Emerson College. She found a deep love of camp/parody when she played the role of Judy Denmark/Ginger Del Marco in a production of Ruthless. After college Annie arrived in Chicago. Her first Chicago production was Corn Productions’ Jeff-Nominated The Bad Seed – the Musical, where she met a certain Mr. David Cerda.

She has performed with Hobo Junction in The Temp, and The Scooty & JoJo Show’s hysterical Carpenter’s Halloween. Her first show with Handbag was Caged Dames, and she loved playing Wanda in Go-Go Kitty, Go!

Annie also enjoys attempting to dress up her cats in costumes, and is thrilled that the love of her life, Jared, actually puts up with it.
