Chad McLaughlin has been performing at various Chicago stages and stages of undress since his return to Chicago from Los Angeles in 2000. He has performed in many venues around the world from Moscow and Dublin to the Corn Palace in Mitchell South Dakota and the Bijou Theater in Chicago, Illinois. He met many of his fellow Handbaggers while playing an elf in Sweetback’s production of Rudolph the Red Hosed Reindeer in 2001, a role he has portrayed a record four times. He has appeared with the Lyric Opera of Chicago in numerous productions such as Madame Butterfly and Billy Budd. Chad has also been seen in various productions at the Bailiwick and Theatre Building Chicago. In his younger days, Chad traveled the world as a cast member of Up With People spreading joy and optimism across the globe.
