David Cerda is the co-founder and Artistic Director of HIAH Productions. He’s also the resident playwright. Cerda has written SuperPussy Vixens, Go Faster! Kill!, SCARRIE- The Musical, Rudolph the Red-Hosed Reindeer (1997-2007), Joan Crawford Goes to Hell, Touched by Jayne Mansfield, The Birds (with Pauline Pang), the Jackie Susann monologues in Jacqueline Susann’s Valley of the Dolls , Poseidon! An Upside Down Musical, How ‘Whatever Happened to Baby Jane’ Happened and Caged Dames. His shows have been produced throughout the country and he still has to work in a damn office- even after the Chicago Tribune called him ‘the Charles Ludlam of the Midwest’. Can you believe that? My mother a common waitress…oh the injustice of it all! Anyway, where was I? Cerda has worked with Corn Productions in The Bad Seed- The Musical and is semi-active in the LGBT recovery community, but don’t tell anybody because it’s anonymous.  He is also the founder of The Joans, a rock band dedicated to giving Joan Crawford a rock and roll voice. He lives in Chicago with Christopher, his main man of 14 years.
